I need to transport a number of fans next weekend to the Fan Fest and was wondering if anyone had any tips or ideas. Box fans are usually fairly easy to just sit upright behind the front seats or strap into a seat and they're fairly robust. The issue I have is with the desk fans, since they tend to roll around and I don't want to have any cages or blades getting bent. In the past I usually just put them in the front or back foot wells. But they do tend to roll around still. The good thing is my new car has a lot more trunk space than my old one and the back seats fold down which the old ones didn't. Also I had some fans fall over and scratch some of the trim in my old car and I don't want that to happen in my new one. I've thought of using milk crates maybe, but I only have a couple. I guess boxes could work too. The idea I have is to create "cells" to keep fans upright and from hitting each other (or parts of the car). And of course I want to have some extra room for bringing any new finds back too.
