Trying to repair the internal wiring of this fan. I don't see any way to get the inner motor separated from the housing. The wires were twisted off, and there are more colors going up to the motor than I actually see in the motor housing. There are brown, purple and orange that are connected to the capacitors in the housing, and a red wire from the capacitors that attaches somewhere under the motor. The bottom housing has the brown, purple and orange wires going up towards the motor, but it also has 2 wires, yellow and gray, that are broken off just above the switch housing. The wires in the upper housing all go through a hole in the shaft that the motor is attached to, they were zip tied in the white heat shield tube material to the cast iron frame above the motor. The brown, purple and orange all go to the fan speed switch, the yellow wire is attached to the reverse switch, and the gray wire is joined to all of the white common wires. Does anyone know if the yellow and gray wires were actually connected to something in the motor housing? If so, is there any way to get the motor separated from the housing to repair the wiring? There is a thin black plate that was also screwed to the cast iron housing above the motor, making it even harder to even see between the motor and housing.

Wanted to update this so if some one else has a similar issue they can find hope. I emailed the photos to a local repair shop, and they told me with this model of Hunter, they haven't ever been able to get the stator separated from the housing.
Armed with the new mentality of "I can't make it worse", I used a cold chisel to knock the shaft down through the housing by putting the flat end of the chisel against the shaft to evenly push it down. I now have the stator still attached to the shaft and I can repair the wires that were broken off.

Thats good you got it through, I would've replied but I have had no experience with any of these import Hunter originals so I didn't have much to say. Hopefully your repair goes well though!
