Vintage 80’s SMC Emperor fan taken from one of my rentals. Motor is seized and blades are filthy Make me an offer, I hate to throw it in the trash. Attachment Deleted

Theres one of these on my local CL, with blade replacements.. Very tempting, but..

Is there anywhere that rebuilds the motors for these? If I could get it fixed I’d just keep it.

All you need to do is oil the bearings.. motor is still good

You may be able to find a motor repair shop in your area that would change out the bearings.. The cost of the work would definitely be worth it compared to purchasing a new fan..

WD40 will free up the bearings, but you may notice a slight noise from them afterwords.. I've had better luck with contact cleaner to free up the bearings, followed by oil..
