Is there a simple video editing software out there? I mostly use my phone to take videos, but I'd like to be able to add text, edit scenes, music, etc. I don't have any way to do this currently, I just upload straight from phone to YouTube.

I usually upload directly from my (Android) phone, but have iMovie installed on both of my MacBooks, so if I need to edit, I can possibly use that, but I'm no pro at it, LOL.

I see, I'm the same and I have an Android also. My computer is Windows though. I know absolutely nothing about video editing.

I've used Windows Movie Maker (Windows 7), iMovie 2009, OpenShot, and MovAvi..
Of them all, I like iMovie the best, but my Apple computer is getting quite old and takes upwards of 20-30 hours to save a HD project with the new camera.. My Windows machine is a lot more powerful so I've been moving to Windows-based editors more recently.
OpenShot is free, but I've found it very unreliable and doesn't export the project as you created it in the timeline.. I've tried OpenShot on it's native Linux platform also and found it messed up projects on there too, albeit less often..
Windows Movie Maker is good for basic editing (probably sufficient for what you described), but doesn't have a lot of options beyond that.. It is free, but you need Window 7..
MovAvi is what I'm currently using for most projects.. I find it less intuitive than iMovie, but it works a lot faster due to the way my computers are, and it's been able to do everything I've wanted so far.. It's not free, I think it costs somewhere around 40 dollars if I remember correctly..

most of my youtube videos are unedited raw videos,
for editing videos, i use avs video editor.. most reliable video editing application i've ever used!
in rare cases i download random video editing apps on phones only when necessary to cut out a certain thing off instead of having to transfer and doing everything on pc
one example of my video edits which i spent a really long time to master:

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I might look into this more when I have time. I just don't have the patience or time to learn editing right now, but maybe someday.
