Here's the history of this school, and are some videos i took recently as they are in the process of demolition.. I'm trying to rescue a few old Florescent fixtures out of the cafeteria as you see in the photos.. School was built in the late 1950s, and has run pretty much in it's original form until now, as the whole campus is to be replaced with a modern facility.. It opened as Golf View J.R. High in the 1950s, and changed to a magnet school sometime in the 80s or 90s as Gold Coast community school. Most schools of this age were updated in the 1980s with newer drop ceilings and troffer lighting fixtures and others in the classrooms and those huge window AC units that were put in, in the late 1970s.. Cafeteria remained the same with those old asbestos ceiling tiles and the fluorescent lighting on the downrods and those two AC units that probably hasn't been used since the 70s as you see central AC running from the roof which was probably put in, in early 1980s.... as you see the cafeteria remained pretty much the same as you see a flat screen TV mounted, new floors and tables and chairs.. New and old Technology basically together in these photos.. Students at one time bringing huge metal lunch boxes to school to eat out of, now students looking down at their mobile devices under those same light fixtures.. Probably even 16mm projectors viewing educational films at one time being runned under those lights.. My how have times have changes while things stay the same, but to be destroyed within days of this post.. Such a shame how it's now to be destroyed, 60 years of history to be gone.. They kept this old school up with running with newer internet wifi, and teachers using ipads to teach, and modern projectors running windows... These classrooms at one time saw analog 16mm projectors and a day before AC was used.. Well history is to be gone as they tear down this school, which is basically one of the last in my country to be gone as most have already been replaced long ago.. None ceiling fan related as this school was built before the ceiling fan era became very popular beyond industrial use, and this school never had them installed during it's life span.. enjoy the videos..
My mother brought me to the cafeteria of this school back in 1993 when I was in between middle and high school.. The summer of that year when she was trying to get me into a job program, which was held in the cafeteria of this school.. Those old PA speakers, fluorescent lighting and the huge AC units on each side were there..
Pics of the modern cafeteria from google images and some from twitter that were taken around 2015-17 era

Here's the videos of what I could capture.. Wish I could get into the main area that they are tearing down..
