Hey everyone... Hopefully you can help me out with my fan.
I have a 2004 Litex Ceiling Fan model CPR52BC5LKMRCR. The fan has an internal receiver and is controlled by a remote control the contains a dip switch inside.
My issue is that the remote buttons don't work well and I never wanted a remote to begin with. Since the remote is not functioning correctly, I'd rather install a wall panel (remote) switch instead. I ordered a common UC9051T universal wall switch that is supposed to work with a Litex fan (It has the same dip switch). However, when I went to hook it up, it has 3 wires in the back...and it says that one of the wires shouldn't go to neutral...it should be wired to the fan receiver? The other wires, one black wire goes to hot, the other green goes to ground. I can't for the life of me figure out how the switch gets power if it isn't hooked up to hot and neutral...and only has 3 input wires.
So I called Litex tech support and the support guy told me that my fan works on remote only (the remote that came with the fan) and if that remote doesn't work, there are no replacement remotes and since it has an internal receiver there is no way that I can hook up a universal switch to run it. I questioned him about getting a universal panel switch with a dip switches and he said no, I would have to replace the fan. I can't see that being correct, but that it what he said.
Will my UC9051T wall switch work with this fan? If not, is there any other wall switch that will work with the fan? I think I'm getting bad information so I wanted to see anyone here could help. I hate to have to replace a perfectly good fan just because the remote went bad. I have photos, etc I can post if anyone needs them.
