we have a 52 " fan with no name. Under the top bezel there is a model HC-1993-br, but no name. photo attached
after a lot of searching, I found one that looks just about the same but maybe a newer version. Harbor Breeze Portes Ceiling Fan Manual
MODEL # LP8293LAZ, LP8293LBN
ITEM # 0464465, 0451821
Neither of these fans have a pull chain. our fan has a regular light switch on the wall and some sort of a module in the top bezel. It has no number on it nor does it have a name. I tried searching the only indicator : RJ115 or RL115 as shown on the diagram, but found nothing.
when the light switch is turned on, it turns on the light. shutting it off and back on within a couple of second makes the light brighter. do it again and it increases again, a fourth time and it is bright. a fifth time and it shuts off.
Once in a while when you turn it on, the fan will also start. shut off the wall switch for 10 seconds and every thing goes back to normal. no indications of when the fan will start and when it wont, 98% of the times, the fan doesn't start.
there are only two wires that go from the light switch box to the fan/light. one black the other white. the black wire is connected through the light switch and the white goes directly to the fan/ light upper bezel. the black being a hot lead and the white being a neutral lead.
at the fan, these two leads are connected to this module sitting in the bezel, and leaving the module are three wires, blue, black and white. they connect to the blue black and white that go down into the fan/light unit. that is all the wiring. I have attached the wiring diagram stuck to the back of this controller found in the bezel. the diagram does appear to have a different looking switch at the wall than just a normal single pull sing throw switch that you find on most lights in the house.
any help would be appreciated.
