That's the inflation that does that so the standards of prices for what was considered a budget fan at the beginning of the millennium and today are not the same standards. When we look at the same fans that have been around for a long time we see it. For a while a Canarm CP56 at Rona and Réno-Dépôt costed 59,99. Progressively they raised the prices and now it's 119$. It is all too easy for a retailer to set a price point, regardless of actual market conditions. If these prices were purely a result of raw inflation/deflation, the they would be constantly changing. Surmise - the cost of gas. The listings on a pump could be quite affordable one day, yet quite outrageous the next. Then, a week later when prices have decreased, people are relieved. However, what is not often considered is that the "new lower price" is higher than the one a week ago. Often, this all occurs while the actual price of the resource has remained nearly identical.
