Funny how the PCB (PC board) inside the fan is dated mid-2009, but the IT3 system didn't come out until at least mid-2010. I love it!!!

Dates can vary quite often with parts like motherboards; the IT3 system, as with many others, was likely conceptualized over a year in advance, and during the early stages of said conceptualization, especially for computerized products, is when the motherboard (s) are designed and manufactured for their applications, as well as tested. It seems as though the motherboard design here was also finalized and begun mass production around a year prior and this Bel Air Halo resulted with an earlier motherboard unit.

Yeah I wonder if my Panama (dated March of 2011) has one of the early PCB's... not gonna crack open the housing and void the warranty just to find out, but I wonder...

Casablanca's been one to use older parts in newer fans, just to use up their old stock and not waste it. I'm pretty sure my fan has an older IT3 board.

Especially with something higher-value, it is not uncommon for manufacturers plan in-advance. With the board in this fan, they went so far as listing the revision number. Yeah I wonder if my Panama (dated March of 2011) has one of the early PCB's... not gonna crack open the housing and void the warranty just to find out, but I wonder... If you're careful...

Still not doing it... I don't really care enough to know, to be honest.

Very nice fan, but I hope you took the wattage limiter out!

Hi Max, I'm glad you're enjoying the fan, and again I'm sorry for how long it took me to get to you.
The 2009 date on the board is just the date the design of the board was finalized, not the date it was manufactured. Your board was manufactured in August 2011, one month before the fan, as indicated by the "HXX" sticker on the side.
If you ever have issues with the lights flickering, do not change the IT board! The problem is the wattage limiter. You're good with fans so you probably already knew that, but I just wanted to make sure, since I know people who have spent hundreds of dollars unnecessarily changing boards because of this.

Thanks again Sam and no worries! Also, all parts unnecessary for installation have been removed
