Jared, you know me well. And perfect timing; the cheapo Horror Sneeze in my bedroom just crapped out and this fits well in there. I might jump on it...we will see.

UPDATE: Well, I was going to pick it up, but my mom said I couldn't (she's sick right now and we couldn't drive out there bc I had to take care of her). The other reason, however, is because the place I'm in is not a place my mom and I plan on staying in for the long haul. So, she gave me the task of finding the best fan I could for under $200, with a catch: I have to find something that I am not going to want to take with me when we move from where we are now. The San Marino is one of my absolute favorites from Casa, and especially in Verde...for $150 that's a gem. But I'll have to buy something like that later on, when I live somewhere my mom and I plan on staying. The best deal for under $200 right now is the new old stock (and crap ton of it) of the Paramount XP, but I'd want to take that with me when I move. So, I'm probably going to buy a Minka Aire Supra (52") instead; those are built well, perform well, and look good for one of the best deals new. And that's something I'd be comfortable with leaving here.

Sorry to hear, I hope your mom gets better soon! I'd get like a Hunter Westminster from Lowe's or something like that.

Sorry to hear, I hope your mom gets better soon! I'd get like a Hunter Westminster from Lowe's or something like that. Thanks, Vince. It's not a normal sickness though. She has lupus, and is currently in a really bad flare. And nah, those are trash in quality and airflow, just like the Waldon, Sontera, Astoria, etc. My next door neighbor has a Waldon that no longer works after a shocking 7 years of being up; it's pretty much a light that collects more dust than a normal one now. No fancy controls or anything; it just doesn't work any longer. That's worse than the POS in my bedroom that stopped working after 10 years. I'm trying to get something I don't/won't have attachment to but is still a high quality item that performs well, for a good price. The Supra fits that description to a tee; I mean, there are other deals that are as good as the Supra, for the same price or slightly more expensive (Paramount XP, Minka Aire Rudolph, Fanimation Edgewood, etc.) But all of the aforementioned are fans I would want to keep. The Supra is something I'd be comfortable with not keeping if need be.

Why not just install a light fixture and take the fan if you want it? A lot of people don't want fans in the bedroom anyway.

I live in SoCal, which basically means that it's too hot to not have a ceiling fan in your bedroom for 8 months out of the year. Basically where I live, its essentially a requirement for me to have a ceiling fan in my bedroom. When I replace my ceiling fan with another one, I have to make sure I'm comfortable when I move; my mom and I don't plan on taking any furniture, fans, etc. with us.

Noah, what you do is you get the fan, hang it up, and then when ya move, go to your habitat and buy whatever cheap 52" POS is there that you can leave behind.

But, I can't do that. A: For starters, there are literally no habitats around me. And B: Although I would prefer it that way, but this plan involves me buying this San Marino if still available, or something else that I'd really like, then taking it down and putting something else up before I leave. The reason why I cannot do that (as much as I'd want to and as much as I disagree with the situation) is because of the lack of predictability of circumstances on my end, in time as well as events themselves, as well as the fact that she and I don't plan on taking much to any of the stuff there with us when this day comes, which means furniture, fans, etc. stays. You are probably like "Well, where the hell is the logic in that?!", but I can't explain the ordeal simply much better than this.

What finish?

What finish? BN/BS. I mean, I was going to wait a little before I bought the fan but she decided to order it a bit early. I mean, I don't feel at a loss because these are still very good fans for the money in basically every regard, but I did prefer a little more time to solidify what would go in there. I was eventually going to order something, but she beat me to it.
