We had two Radio Shack stores, the mall one closed awhile ago. The older one is now closing down. I will miss it. I hadn't been in there on a while but I always thought they were a cool store... I liked their toys and hobby kits as a kid. I still have a toy robot from there.
Also the one that is now closing had 52" Emerson 1895 cfs in white installed at one point.

I've never seen a Radio Shack with a fan in it!
Radio Shack had its pros and cons, in our area and it seems the rest of the area, they were oversaturated! I know in one area of our county of a probably four mile stretch there was four or five Radio Shacks at one point. Two of them were right across the street from each other.
I can think of countless Radio Shacks in the bigger townships in our area and none were overly busy.
My Cousin is about to loose his job, he's a manager of one of the stores and his store was one of the only three profitable stores in the entire county yet we had probably close to 15. The closings should have happened sooner. It seems like Payless, GNC, and Radio Shacks are everywhere (at least in our area). Also another element to think about is rent rates go based off of Property Taxes as well as other factors but NJ here has the highest property taxes and our areas local economy is awful at the moment.

Older Radio Shacks had Emersons. I've seen Designers and 1895s, always in white.
I will miss Radio Shack.

There used to be a number of RadioShacks around here,, unfortunately they are all gone as of years ago.. I liked that store,, the stuff was a little on the expensive side but it was usually good quality and you knew you were getting the right thing..
Unfortunately between people not wanting to repair or buy parts for stuff,, as well as the much cheaper prices available at places like Amazon.com,, there's just not much business to be had from them anymore.. Its a shame to see them go,, there's really no other stores like it..

Anyone still have a Radio Shack? I heard there is still between 5-600 left. Our closest one is now about an hour to hour and a half away.

We actually still have a Radio Shack in the next town, and it's not closing. I've never been to it and actually forgot it was there until I read an article about it in the newspaper. It's privately owned.

Antenna Man on YouTube just visited one in PA that's still open. It has two TAT maybe (?) industrials, the ones with the UFO motor. It's a really cool store, looks like it has the same kind of selection as they used to. www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4N3rgs_ZL4

I do miss the Radio Shack stores. They're all gone around here, that's for sure. They always seems to have what I needed, when I needed it, for a project with electronics.
Take care!
