it is a craftmade 42 inch ceiling fan that I found at habitat, in antique brass and I think the model name is decorative, the fan cost me nine bucks, and it can accept either four or five blades, the light did not come with it, I bought it at lowes,

Nice find! Though the Decorative normally comes with Casablanca-style brackets or pretzel brackets. Are those blades and brackets original? I like it, it looks so good!

mom has that very same star tree topper,love that craftmade fan,i have the same thoughts as vincent about the blade arms details,very nice finds indeed,i wish you put up a casablanca fan(least a 1980s or 90s since they are better imo.

By the way the model of it is fc 3142 and it is made in taiwan also it has the older craftmade logo

I'm almost always biased towards four bladed fans since almost all of the best vintage fans are four blades. Plus, virtually all of the new fans sold today have five blades, so I think it's best for vintage fans to still stand out with four blades if possible.
