It's one of the first ceiling fans that are made for outdoors. It's not the best, but there's much worst out there.

Actually that's wrong it's not one of the first outdoor fans, but yes, it is Wet Rated so it can be exposed directly to the elements. BTW, it's pronounced Guh-ZEE-boe. My grandparents have 2 Verde ones on their back patio. They're ok fans. Not like a Hunter but still nice.

The first generation with Panama vents seem to last long at least longer than the current generation. I have no idea about the current ones but I've seen a lot with broken blade irons. I also know because my aunt has two of the new generation 42" ones in Iron they literally move NO AIR. I'm definitely an advocate for using a fan to cool an area even if its keeping it on low to circulate air but on high these things are just using up 50 watts of electric to move something for appearance.
