Thank you yet again Brian! That is an excellent deal. Shipping is a highly vaiable option, given this is factory-boxed. With a used fan however, the risk of damage due to improper packaging is present (I am actually rather paranoid regarding this issue come to think of it). Nevertheless, I will likley visit the area of this fan (and others) come Autumn, and may even receive the opportunity to pick them up directly, assuming these sellers are willing to hold them... I know, Max, you have already seen this but I personally think that the fan looks better with Metropolitan brackets than it does its own; and just to mention the metropolitan brackets knock the blade span to 52" from 53". denver.craigslist.org/hsh/5619145179.htmlPricey metropolitan: www.ebay.com/itm/CASABLANCA-52-METROPOLITAN-BRUSHED-NICKEL-INTELLI-TOUCH-Ceiling-Fan-HR-6445Z-/140861044472?hash=item20cbf8f6f8:g:keYAAOxy7S5SDCV3Pricey Panama: www.ebay.com/itm/Casablanca-50-Panama-Brushed-Nickel-Intelli-Touch-Control-Ceiling-Fan-HR-6645T-/141998651109?hash=item210fc776e5:g:lBQAAOSw-QBXPixyPanama halos are the uplight-equipped versions of the Panama XTR, which was originally meant to replace the standard Panama but was discontinued quickly after, with the standard Panama put back in place. The halo variant was around until around 2014, when Casablanca was in the process of remodeling their Panama lineup. The XTR motor is a "skeletal spinner" motor, where the outer casing is the part that spins, unlike K55-type motors, but the outer casing allows access into the motor. XTR Panamas had thicker motor housings than their XLP counterparts, due to the XTR having a taller stack height. XTR Panamas also came with blade brackets pitched at a steep 20°, unlike the 15° the XLP version had, and moved about 300 CFMs more than the standard XLP despite the greater pitch (the XTR is a more powerful motor), and oddly, the XTR had the 4/5 blade option. However, the XLP makes up for that by being much quieter during operation, due to having a flywheel instead of the blades being mounted straight to metal. Here's one, it is on the steep side of pricing though: www.ebay.com/itm/Casablanca-6645F-Panama-Ceiling-Fan-Motor-NO-BLADES-4-Speed-NEW-OPEN-BOX-/311440913727?hash=item488353353f:g:8jQAAOSwHmhV7pJlThank you for the informative post as per ususal Noah While that Panama Halo is certainly beautiful, the price goes over-budget. Out of curiosity, why is the stated CFM rating "5148" as per the box?

Out of curiosity, why is the stated CFM rating "5148" as per the box? No problem, I like informing people and I don't know. The Panama II XLP moves 6,228 CFM (at the standard 50" blade span) as per their website and numerous other sources, but the box says 5,226 CFM. Maybe it was tested at a different span, which would be 42". The XTR moves 6,522 CFM a 50" span but the box says 5,148 CFM, so it must be either a misprint (I doubt that), or since the XTR Panamas had the option to get larger blades for 60" and 72" spans with blade brackets at a 10° pitch instead of 20°, then the CFM rating could've been calculated with the larger blades and lower pitch, or quite possibly the 42" span option offered by both the XLP and XTR Panamas (only the XTR Panamas offered the option of having a 60" blade span or 72" blade span). At the standard 50" blade spans, the XTR and XLP Panamas move 6,522 and 6,228 CFMs respectively. That could possibly explain why. And yes, I knew the fan is over budget but decided to put it out there anyway.

If possible regardless get an XLP. Even get the new Spinner one over an XTR.. The XTR's are awful! I Owned one and it was bad enough and now after experiencing other ones they get noisier with age.
