Sooooo my friends at Casablanca approached me about sending a Duluth my way. I'm not doing too much with this thread yet as I have the video review going live Tuesday and I'll follow that up with more pics and stuff in here, but I've been making the announcement across social media today and I'll provide you guys here with a teaser of the box. I have to tell you hands down, this is Casablanca's best release since Hunterization occurred across the line. We're not getting XLP back, I accepted long ago that it's going away and won't come back, but this fan is a step back in the right direction.

I swear you have the best luck! Any chance at possibly getting a new Panama XLP? I'd like to see if it still is made the same in terms of the motor. I like the Duluth!

Some luck, but also a good amount of time and work.
I don't know about the Panama, they approach me when they want to send product. If this one goes over well, perhaps I will ask if they would consider sending a Panama XLP.

He has luck because he showcases alot more modern (Designs) and upscale ceiling fans.. And it's professionally done with proper lighting and quality video and how it's edited also helps... They see him as a product to make money and get the word across by reviewing a product, and he gets a fan out of it.. A fair deal.. In other cases such as myself as an example, they would never approach, and I would never expect them to seeing how my ceiling fans I showcase are 30+ years outdated.. No one sells GE vent fans anymore other than the Dixie Belle at Dan's Fans, and no one makes spinners anymore other than the industrials out there... So I surely would not fit into their category... Someone like Johnathan they would never approach, (Gee's I wonder why LOL).. I'm happy for Cole, and he deserves it...

I get to do Fanimation (for obvious reasons) but I have been encouraging them to work with Cole as well. A few other companies have sent me products to demo, I try not to disclose which ones are sent to me from the manufacturer, and which ones I find on my own. I would love to do Emerson and especially Matthews as I never find their (current) products.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Here are a couple pictures of the fan itself, one showing the fan in entirety and one showing some detail of the finishes. It is honestly a really great fan, it performs well and the design is amazing. Like I said in the video, this wasn't something I would've really expected from Casablanca, but I think it's a welcome departure from the last few years of kinda blah. All of the fans this year are real statements, I've missed seeing that from Casablanca.

Another excellent review Cole! While the design is far from a personal favorite, it certainly would fit beautifully into a modern industrial décor. I would agree that "a little bit of old Casablanca" is evident here. The canopy and other features are quite refreshing, and do not reek of "Hunterization." The retention of their 120-day in-home service policy is also impressive.

Since I posted these pictures of the motor elsewhere, I'll post them here as well. The first is with the blade hub still in place, the second with it removed. I have it all packed up again so I didn't want to take the housing off or anything, but the entire black 'skeletal' portion is cast.

Looks like a pretty good motor.. At least its AC! The overall fan's appearance isn't bad either..
