Wow very cool and rare! I have never seen these blades on a SMC. They remind me of Vortice blades.

It seems like it's the first time we see one with variable speed control with this canopy at the same time and also the first time with a painted version of this switch housing on a Laguna motor. It does not have a date?

I don't see a date on it anywhere unless it's in the switch housing.. I didn't want to go into the switch seeing how everything is sandwiched in there.. And the Variable speed control pot can not be adjusted through that hole.. I'm thinking early-mid 1980s seeing how it has the mounting bracket, and they wanted to make a more simple, less expensive fan without the bells and whistles, like reverse and three speeds, and it being more of a utility fan.. Mounting bracket is the older one too.. So I'm thinking 1983-84..
