My Habitat has a white Hunter Ashlyn for $25.
My Ace has a brushed nickel Auberville (with the older Hunter logo on the box, old stock) for $89.
Are either of those any good or worth getting?

So Friday I had the day off so decided to do my usual thrift store run and hit up all the thrift stores.
At Salvation Army I found a cute little 30” Heritage Spector spinner from 1993 with globe light kit. Only $5. It’s the cleanest fan I’ve ever found I think and it even had the bracket.
Anyway I was happy to find it, since I think the 30” version of these are really neat. I’ve been looking out for a 30” Encon spinner as well.

Yeah mine only has a few Mariners in stock and I think that’s the only model they stock.
I like some of the Hampton Bay outdoor models.
A bit off topic but I learned not long ago that the Gazebo came out way before I realized. I always thought early 2000s, maybe late 90s. But come to find out it was one of the first Hampton Bat models, and early ones had a 188mm motor.
Now, my aunt and uncles beach house was built in 1986, and has mostly what I think are Moss WF series inside. But on the porch is a Hampton Bay Gazebo with spot lights. My uncle said that fan was original to when the house was built and I didn’t believe him. Thought there was no way it could be from 86. But I guess it very well was!

I did noticed on Home Depot’s website the Mariner is on sale for $83 which is cheaper than Hampton Bay outdoor models. Kinda surprising as the Mariner used to be $99 but had gone up to around $120.
Now the sale price is only good if you order it and pick up in store or ship to house. If you try to buy it in the store it’s still $119 which makes no sense.
What I wonder is fl if these are on sale due to the logo change. The ones in stock seem to have the script Hunter logo where if you look on Hunters site they have the new all caps HUNTER logo.
So I wonder if these are marked down to clear the older stock?

Nice! Especially on the Lasko I know you’ve been wanting one for a while. What’s next On the hunt list? I would like to find the 36” plastic Lasko. And some Hunters particularly Leighton, Passport III, Belle Meade, Paramount XP. I used to see Passport IIIs for sale but not any lately. I’ve seen a few of those and Leightons on Marketplace but too far away. Also a 5 blade GE vent in PB or AB and cane blades. And a Fasco Vanity Fair. If I got a house I’d put my Great Room in the master with a white Vanity Fair in the master bath sink area. I’d like a Porch Fan motor to use with the blades I got along with a PB Great Room for my other set. I’m honestly not actively looking too much right now, as I just don’t have space right now and I’d like to put fans to use. If something falls in my lap I’ll buy it but I’m not going to have anything shipped anymore. I have enough for a whole house at this point. But I’ve come to the conclusion I’ll never be able to afford a house at these prices and insurance is going up again in Florida, so I just don’t see it ever happening. The prices just aren’t coming down.

Today I went to Fan Fest in Sarasota. I got a 42” Lasko I’d been wanting, as well as a Casablanca Panama II, Alpine and an Emerson Legend II from Matt Cody.
Also got a Vornado and Lasko.

Adin, I'm really jealous of those pure white blades on the Delta II. All three of my late 80's/early 90's white Delta II fan's blades have started to yellow. The rest of the fans are in excellent condition with new bearing. Casablanca probably used an oil-based white paint on the blades at that time. I painted much of the interior trim in my house with a white, oil-based paint in the early 90's, because oil-based lasted much longer that latex. Unfortunately, in 30 years time my interior trim looks like the Delta blades now. The newer acrylic/latex paint has improved greatly over the years as oil-based paints are slowly discontinued. I'm repainting the trim this year and thinking about those Delta blades too. Thanks for posting and take care! Jim My Delta II’s blades are yellowed too, but for some reason, only on the side that was facing the floor.

I have one of the older ones that were sold from the early 2000s to 2010. It is an AMAZING fan. It has a 172 motor in it and really hauls. If thats the model that they have and its priced reasonably I would say to buy it. They are great little fans! Wow 172 is definitely a good size for these fans. It’s in that era, it has the pre 2008(?) logo on the box. I’ll check again, I think it was $99 or $129 on the price. There is a Summer Breeze Plus with the older logo too for $129. The rest of the fans are some older Westinghouses and some current ones.

Are the Aubervilles any good and what motor? My local Ace has some older stock fans and one is among them.

Has anyone here had any luck with ceiling fan finds at Habitat Restores?
I really haven’t. A few months ago I saw an ad on Facebook for ceiling fans at the Vero Beach Habitat. I saw in the pictures was a white Original, white 42” Charleston, some Dixie Belles, a Hunter Eastern Shore and I think a Southern Classic.
Anyway I made the 1.5 hour trip there and none of it was even there! Very disappointed.
I also tried a small town Habitat, it just had a Gazebo II and a Hunter Stonington, the whole store was very overpriced.
I’m thinking about trying some more but have my doubts.
My Habitat like 15 years ago used to get nice stuff like Originals, Emersons and older imports with big spinner motors. Unfortunately most of it was incomplete.
What’s annoying now is they seem to only sell whole fans if they come in assembled, otherwise I just find blades so I assume the motors got scrapped. It’s really aggravating, I thought about asking the to stop doing that but I doubt they’d keep them for one person.
They do have a few nice fans on the display like a Sears Lasko and a Casablanca Zephyr plus a Passport II.
Also I have noticed Goodwill does not seem to sell ceiling fans unless they’re in the box new, I guess they don’t accept used ones.
I have had good luck at the thrift store in the next town, I got my 2 Apollos, Dixie Belle and Grayton II there, and I notice the fans are always nicely put in boxes or bins.

I hope everyone has good holidays coming up. Does anyone have plans?
We had breakfast at work today, and we got out at 2.
Tomorrow we’re going to my aunt and uncles house for Christmas Eve, and my grandma is coming over too.
Other than that I don’t have anything planned. We’re closed Monday for Christmas and the following Monday for New Years and I’m on vacation in between.
I might try to hit some of the habitats I haven’t been too.
The weather was nice today, it got sunny and was 75. It’s already dropping temperature fast, it’s in the high 50s now. In the morning it’s supposed to be in the 30s and o don’t think we’re getting above the high 40s and low 50s at most tomorrow.
Christmas morning is supposed to be high 20s/low 30s.
We got some thunderstorms late last night as the cold front came in too.

We did Thanksgiving at my aunts house last weekend. Her house has Monte Carlos as far as I know. The living room has a Victorian style one and the bedrooms seem to have builder vent ones. There are also two outdoor fans in the back porch.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving should you celebrate.
