Hello, About a week ago, I bought my first vintage ceiling fan from the Halethorpe Habitat ReStore location: a Casablanca Delta II from the late 80's. I hung it in my room and kept it there for a single day, until I realized that there was too much bearing noise which is something I didn't expect from a Casa. I took it apart and found out that it has an Astrosyn motor, which are notorious for having terrible bearings. I had some help from fellow fan collectors on Instagram as how to properly re-grease the bearings. I removed the entire motor housing, detached the wires in the nose running up the shaft and out into the motor, and was ideally going to pound the shaft out from the top. However, the shaft is very stuck. As much oil I put around the shaft and pounding I did the damn thing won't even budge!I pounded so hard that the shaft flattened. Please help me! How can I get the shaft out so I can re grease the bearings? my goodness, it seems the hardest part of fixing something is actually GETTING to the problem! I will post some pics of the mess soon
