Dang that sure is expensive! While its not my personal preference in style.. Emerson does put out a good fan still.. It should work well for you.. definitely better than anything the big boxes stores are offering..

it is expensive but not compare for regular price,i paid the sale price,it was their money and mom has a good job so we are not that poor, she told me to buy it so i did it.. and as for style(finish..etc)i dont like it,i only like the brand and quality, that's it. and top that it's in their house not in mine so i wont have to put up with it that much(i dont go there that much).
overall if they are happy with it,thats what matters,it beats no fan at all(which it wasnt one in that room to begin with) so it will be good for us..and for me due to emerson, not wal mart junk, harbor breeze/hampton bay crap either.

First, "to those who care", I think most of us care, including me!
No HB junk (from HD or Lowe's) and no Walmart junk! Are you going to add a light kit? $$$ well spent!
Emerson is my new favorite brand... it used to be Casablanca, but with Casablanca getting rid of IT and the XLP motors, and Emerson bringing out new models with K55XL motors and their nice DC ECO motor, Emerson is doing what we want!

thanks vincent! reason why i put "to who cares" is because it's a modern style not vintage lol.. so i made a good/fair topic(is all i can think of) as for light kit,no they dont want one because they perfer/putting up recessed/can lights around it in the room and they got lamps in that room too

Emerson has always been my favorite fan company, and they, and Fanimation, currently (still) put out the best fans in the world. End of story. And I honestly think Emerson has been underappreciated and underrated for all these years. In fact, I preferred them over Casablanca EVEN IN CASABLANCA'S PRIME!

And to elaborate, the K55XL is actually larger than the standard K55. The K55 is 140mm x 25mm in size, which is a large 3500 mm². The K55XL is 140mm x 33mm, aka the same size as the Casablanca XLP2100(in cathay, nouvelle, mission, etc). That is the equivalent of 4,620mm², which is a really huge motor. Fun factoid: the XLP2000 has a 28mm stack height as opposed to the K55's 25mm. If you look on tradingpost.com, the opened up panama's motor is actually a little narrower than the vents on top of the motor housing, which are about 140mm in diameter. The xlp2000 was actually about 15mm narrower than the black vents on top of the housing. That puts the XLP2000 at 125mm wide. If you do the math, the 125×28 XLP2000 motor (upon further inspection of the size of it) is 3500mm². The 140×25 K55 motor (again upon further inspection) is the exact same size motor, at 3500mm². So one is taller and narrower, and one is shorter and wider. The K55XL Emerson uses now outdoes that figure.

Actually that fan sports a very large 188×18 motor in it, which is approximately 3384mm², almost as big as the K55's/XLP2000's 3500mm² (see my above post for further information).

I would have assumed the K55XL is larger (because of the XL, ) but now I have proof..
And you typed that all in on an iPhone? Wow.. I would have tossed the thing out the window by the second sentence..

Also, the fanimation FDK2100 is a bit bigger than both the 140x25mm K55 and the 125x28mm XLP2000, both of which measure 3500mm squared. The FDK2100 measures 140x28mm which is 3920mm squared. So the FDK2100 is between the 140x33mm K55XL and the XLP2000 and K55 in size (just for reference).
