Here is the other fan I got with this 4 Saisons Galaxy in January 2013. A polished brass Banvil ornate fan in the Emperor style from 1984, the same age as the 4 Saisons Galaxy that I got from this same person. I didn't wanted this fan originally, I was there to buy only the 4 Saisons Galaxy but the person told me that if I don't take it, he will throw it away. I did not had to pay any extra for it.
If you saw the repair thread about this fan, you know that it needed a new speed pull chain but theses early to mid 1980's Banvil used an odd pull chain set that there is no off position from the speed pull chain and the off is done with the reverse pull chain so it makes it more difficult to find the correct way to replace the pull chain. I installed a new pull chain but I get four speeds in disorder and the low and medium are noisy so that is not correct. I get two high speeds, and one is quiet and seems to be the correct high speed for this fan so I decided to let it this way and use it with a capacitive speed controller. Like I wrote in the repair thread, it works very well and quietly this way. The motor or switch housing does not get unusually warm at all. It would have been wasted to have to part this fan as it's in very good physical and mechanical condition, only the electric situation is problematic. The bearings are very good and quite. It's has a very good spin down time.
The light you see on it, is actually the light that came with the 4 Saisons Galaxy from the same person and this Banvil originally had the same style of light but with four arm and antique brass. Those white and amber floral shades are the one that were on it but one was missing and seeing how it had an antique brass light kit, I took the triple light that was on the 4 Saisons and put it on it. It matches and there is no shadeless socket.
A friend of mine would like to buy it for her future house but is not ready to buy this house yet and told me that if I find a buyer before, to not hold it for her. For the moment I put it on Kijiji.
Check out how thick the motor is inside.
