So in my attempt to use up all of my parts, I hit a problem. I got a w-82 or Inteli touch 2 a few months back. I'm going to update my Zephyr's board to the newest IT board, the IT3 when I get the money. Is it possible for me to use the Inteli touch 2 control on an IT3 board? Not sure if anyone else has ran into this problem, but any info will help. This will decide if I have to buy a new control along with the board. I got the new harnesses already

I got the new harnesses already If your fan control is a IT2, then it must be the W-32. If you are in reference of the W-82 or W-84/85, then that is the IT3. If the former is true, then you might have to buy a new IT3 control, as the it2 and it1 both are manufactured on an older receiver/signal technology, versus the radio frequency that the newer IT3 system uses. Therefore, the IT2 is not compatible with the IT3 receiver. Check whether the control is a W-32 or a W-84 or the W-85.

Noah, W-32 is actually NOT IT2, it is IT. W-11 was the first IT control and had three rocker switches (Fan, Light, and Power), and you would press the Fan and Light switches to reverse. W-32 was IT and had actual buttons and a Reverse button. W-82 was the rarer IT2 system with an On/Off slider switch and button changes. W-85 is the IT3, which is an IT control, except IT3 is RF while IT used the wires to send to the fan. (I think IT2 is RF, not a lot is known about IT2). IT3/W-84 can aleo use the W-65 AdvanTouch remote control, which was W-62. The W-82 IT2 control could use the W-62 AdvanTouch remote control. ComforTouch (W-21) was RF and had a screen and auto fan functionality. W-11 and W-32 ITs are interchangeable. There are new features with the different RMM boards, they are interchangeable without a new PCB. IT and IT3 are NOT interchangeable.
IT (W-11): 1984-1991 (Suffix "T") IT (W-32): 1992-2010 (Suffix "T") IT2 (W-82): 2004?-20?? (Suffix "W") IT3 (W-84): 2010-Up (Suffix "Z") AdvanTouch (W-62): 2002-2010 (Suffix "A") AdvanTouch/IT3 (W-65): 2010-Up (Suffix "Z") ComforTouch (W-21): 1992?-200? (Suffix "R")
Skateboardb617, I would NOT use a W-82 with IT3. You could probably use a W-62 or W-65 AdvanTouch control with the IT3 system. You should ask Casablanca, they are the resource you need.

It's literally just a display control now because I can't use it for anything. And my board for the Panama I got just died so I need the newest one, along with the new IT control. So in total, I'm buying 2 new boards and 2 new controls. So those are my projects for now

I've never even seen an IT2 board, it was a completely separate system so I personally don't think the controls do anything for IT or IT3 systems.

I have not seen anything other than a picture of the W-82 control. From what I have seen it is RF-based like IT3, since it can work with the W-62 AT remote control, and the model suffix is "W".

The W-62 Advan-Touch remote can be used on IT2 electronics, however the reverse is not true: W-82 wall controls are not compatible with AdvanTouch electronics. Neither the W-82 NOR the W-62 is compatible with IT3 electronics. You need either the W-85 wall control or the W-65 remote.
Granted, I have not tested all these control configurations myself, and there's a good chance you may get something to work that isn't officially "approved" by Casablanca. I'm surprised you even got your hands on an IT2 control, it was a VERY short lived control system that popped up around the middle of last decade on the XTR Panama and a few select XLP fans (including the Stealth and BelAir). The idea was to have all the benefits of InteliTouch and AdvanTouch combined into one system that could use a remote in conjunction with a wall control. It's extremely similar to IT3 in functionality. Hey at least getting the control wasn't a complete waste; even though you may not have a use for it now, you never know how keeping that extremely rare part on hand will benefit you or another collector later!
