Hi all,
I am really hoping the experts on this forum can help, as I've called hunter several times with no answers. We have an old 4 blade Hunter Fan (Model #22544) that was installed in the early 80's. We recently replaced the part that the blades attach (its one of those that is sort of rubbery), and in the process my father unhooked the light kit and switch, and somehow forgot to write down the color connections. Now we are having a heck of a time getting it put back together. The way it is connected in the pictures supposedly allows everything to work, but the fan will turn one way briefly, and then the other (back and forth) It has two wires on the pull cord module, plus a ground. (I will attach pictures). In the process of taking pictures, the switch fell off so I don't know if that is part of the problem or not.
There is a light switch on the wall, and I believe that originally you could turn the whole system on at the wall, and the pull cord simply shut off the fan blades. (I remember having to twist the light bulbs if you wanted just the fan, no lights). There are two wires that hang down below the switch module. A black, and a black w/white stripe. They still have the factory instructions on them. There is also a white wire (coming from the upper part of the fan) with similar instructions that is connected to a wire that goes back up into the fan motor. (that doesn't seem correct to me, but I am not an electrician).
Black says: Connect black lead of light kit for control with fan switch here
Black w/white stripe says: Connect black lead of light kit for separate light switch here
White says: Connect white lead of light kit mod. 22229, 22256, 22257, 22316, 22317, 22418, here
Also (or perhaps instead of, I'm not sure) they have been talking about installing one of those Hunter Simpleconnect bluetooth controls, is that even possible with a fan this old?
Any help you all could give me would be most appreciated!
