My vintage fans will remain safe and secure in my late grandfather's old wood working shop here in NJ. I don't have many fans, really culled the herd over the years. But the ones I have are rare and precious, and going nowhere! No worries there. I will look forward to seeing the changes at TCF, shocked to see even one of those Originals on the porch get changed. The owner is from NJ, like me, and loves rescued Dachshunds, like me. Weird coincidences! Will post with updates in the next few weeks as I get settled there.

Be prepared for hot as Hades weather, and I already think SoCal is much too hot (at midday I feel like I'm incinerating from the inside out).

Went to Texas Ceiling Fans today, need to pick out new ones for when I move into my new place in a few weeks. Left all my vintage fans in NJ. Need modern looking ones since it is very modern apartment recently built. Probably will do lots of Minka since my budget is tight, and they will look decent since it is new construction with lots of brushed-nickle. Still an upgrade over the Hampton Bay crap there now. The one on the balcony is labelled Old Jacksonville, but the place was just built a few years ago, and it is rusted to hell. Lots of the fans outside have already been replaced, there are dozens of different outdoor fans that replaced the ones installed when new.
At TCF, I Asked about that random new Original installed on the side porch. My guy said they hung it up temporarily recently, and will be reinstalling the old one. They hung the new one that was sent to them by Hunter to test. They ran it for 60 days and nights on high alongside the old one next to it. 24/7. It has now been off for some time, and they will be running it again 24/7 outside for 60 days. After that, they will inspect the bearings and such to see how they look for Hunter. Very cool.

That's very interesting. I'd hope after just 2 months of continuous run, oil-bath bearings would be virtually brand new still, but with the way Hunter has been slipping in quality control lately, who knows.

Just walked into an Austin area BBQ joint. Very old place. Outdoor fan over the front door goon the wrong way was a bad sign. Inside it is all HB Gazebo II in brick with the light kits, and every one of them has a brown Original canopy. So sad... All different speeds bland directions too, also sad. The originals must have been beautiful in this setting

The originals must have been beautiful in this setting I can imagine. Obviously they know nothing about fans.
