This is an interesting idea. Should make for some good videos, I don't think anyone else makes videos like this yet.

Cool video! But the RPMs are way off bro, not even close lol...those top out at ~300 maybe 350 RPM.
If I heard correctly, I think you said the Dayton is a 36" in the beginning...
They're both very nice fans, but as far as style goes, I like the Goldline better in this comparison. Generally speaking I'm not too fond of strait blade industrials, the only one I particularly like is the 36" Dayton. I'd give the 56" Dayton a 8 and the Goldline a 10 for appearance.
That's really cheap that the gold line is just a sticker, I didn't realize that, how disappointing!

Ya I realized I forgot to divid by 3 (3 blades) so the hrs is at 280 rpm while the Dayton is 315 rpm

strobe tachometer app on my phone. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'll have to try it sometime. I do have a few ceiling fans that I know what the RPMs are supposed to be, so it will be interesting to see just how accurate it really is.

the apps pretty accurate as far as I've seen. The measurements that it produced for the Dayton/Goldline fans seem pretty realistic. I'll give it a try next week, I'm off from work and its spring break!
