Hopefully this is in the right section. Below is a generic wiring diagram for a hunter "spinner" motor with a 5 wire capacitor. There is a Hunter Summit diagram somewhere, but this uses the A09 switch from Switchco. This is known to work with all of FanOfVacuums2's 5 wire capacitor Hunters, since I am related to him. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO POWER TO THE ELECTRICAL BOX BEFORE WORKING ON THE WIRING. Turning off the breaker to the room is the safest solution. Since there are about as many of these Hunters as there are people in China, I hope this is helpful to someone.

Just so you know, Hunter made different types of spinner motors with different wiring configurations. This doesn't apply to all of them...

Below is a generic wiring diagram for a hunter "spinner" motor with a 5 wire capacitor. This applies for the majority of those with a 5 wire capacitor. I have a Hunter Summer Breeze with the 2 capacitor configuration. I'll look into a diagram for those. The 5 µF capacitor on those isn't a start capacitor, but a run capacitor.

All PSC motors have two windings, technically called the "main" and "auxillary" windings. We often refer to the auxillary winding as the "start winding" even though it is in the circuit at all times.

My ceiling fan will only spin on one cycle whether up or down. I have the fan with the clear lucite bl ades. I think iT MAY need a new motor. Is it possible to buy one and where or how much would that cost. Possibly the WT series with the chrome light kit (4). Can I fix this myself and how difficult will it be? I love myfan. It waws purchased in the 1988.
