I'd replace the bearings considering that the motor is already opened.

I get mine from Fastenal, but they are not always able to cross the old part number with the new. A higher end bearing place would be able to.

There should be a four digit number on it somewhere.

The fan is a Toastmaster, or either that a local hardware / department store model... I'd replace both bearings also.. My local Faith Farm has this exact one too...

Those are standard numbers except they will have ZZ (steel seals) or 2RS (rubber seals) on the end. Either is fine for a fan. Steel is more standard.

Nicely done! The moss is a better fan than the dayton, although the dayton, being larger, will move more air.
On high speed, the different control shouldnt make a differece.

true, ive always liked the daytons performance and look, so its staying in this garage for now since its bigger, and i hope to get a few more daytons in the years to come and some other industrials when i find a good deal. This toast master will be going in my step dads smaller garage next door with the 3 speed control the dayton is currently using since i ordered a variable dayton brand speed control on ebay. Do you know if threes a difference in speed/performance between a moss Caribbean breeze and this toast master model? my friend who lives down the street has a moss version and it seems to be much faster compared to the toastmaster i have, and the only difference i can think of would be based on the control its on since his has the original control for it and im using mine on a hunter 3 speed control.
