its the same fan except the brackets and the fact that its damp rated... Same materials, motor and everything! At least hunter still has a good fan on the market! Are we talking the real motor from back in the day or this skeletal thing? 1. Same motor that hunter has used since the fan had stopped being produced in US (2002) 2. Still has cast iron housing and motor 3. Still has high quality wood veneer blades If it's damp rated, shouldn't the blades be plastic of some sort? to answer your question, it has the skeletal thing. Also, it is weird that it is damp rated, but the hunter website & catalog lists wood veneer blades. Did you know that teak wood is weather resistant?

Did you know that teak wood is weather resistant? While the skeletal motor is probably the best motor Hunter currently makes, its still not what a real Original should have. I have a few teak benches on my deck, when we had a hurricane a few years back a tree fell on one of them and it broke, so depends on what your definition of weather resistant is LOL

That's why hunter used it on some of their outdoor originals. Also, I found out that we are both interested in moderating the forum. Do you want me to send a message to Adam D wondering if we can moderate on here?

[/quote] I'd think that the motor is still skeletal but the older style, though I really doubt that they'll switch it, as it would cost them $$$ to do so.

I personally don't think you'd do the greatest job moderating the forum, and you'd probably have to be a member here for some time before being promoted to moderator. I also don't think that you can just ask to be moderator, you have to be appointed to the position.

If you would like to send Adam a message to get more information, that's your prerogative. I've already told Adam I'd be willing to step up to a moderator, so if I meet whatever qualifications there are and he's interested, then he can contact me. Also, I think Adam would probably want to talk to us individually since we are at different standings here on the forum. I personally don't think you'd do the greatest job moderating the forum, and you'd probably have to be a member here for some time before being promoted to moderator. I also don't think that you can just ask to be moderator, you have to be appointed to the position. While I don't know what it is, I'd guess there must be some sort of age limit or membership time period that you would have to meet to join the staff.

If I was the admin of the forum, you'd have to be a Senior Member and know what your job is. Like any of the current moderators, you, and me, are good examples of candidates (:

Matt R was a moderator here, but he was only a junior member.

That is true, as you mentioned, you are a senior member. Personally, you'd be a great moderator on here and I'd be happy to see you at that position. As for myself, I don't know. I will ask Adam about it and see what he says.

I will ask Adam about it and see what he says. I think over time, you'd also be a good moderator, you just need to be around the forum for a certain amount of time in order to really learn how the coding works and which people act certain ways and things of that nature. You also need to know how to deal with people, which isn't for everyone. Getting along with them (which you seem to do very well) isn't the same...

Adam sent us both a message, and he'll consider us both if he needs a 5th moderator(he will choose one of us, then go from there). You'd be a great moderator here!

This is the new Casablanca crestmont fan coming out in may of this year. I actually kinda like it because it reminds me of those contemporary/retro 90s casas (not as good of course due to 188×20 motor)

I'm not much into modern/contemporary style fans in general, but at least it doesn't have those awful brackets!
