i went on a fan hunt today after i finished my duty 3 hours earlier in the scrapyard, i usually check specific areas where fans gather, but today i spotted one section filled with decorative fan motors, that section never had fans before this time.. as i went to check on the fans, all of them were rated 120V/60Hz except for a really old unidentified british fan, as i dig in, i found 2 hunter originals, 1 encon, few canarms, and lots of different hunters and generic modern cheapos.. most of them were new, i took the 2 originals, 1 canarm and 1 unidentified industrial, all the other decorative fans had their vents badly bent, broken or missing parts, none of them had blades, a few had broken blade arms the hunter originals: (1 is dated in 1995, the other one is dated in 2003), the 2003 one has a broken vent and the 1995 one has its housing support broken and messed up cables            notice the huge depressing difference  |

Really interesting how you found these (and the other fans) given your location and all. I'd really love to know the story behind all those. I also can't wait to see what you'll be able to do with these!

Looks like someone from the USA took them over there... Looks to be in bad shape.. Beyond repairable, at least the one is..

There were like 30+ fans over there that were rated 120v/60Hz, it seems scrap metal was sold in bulk from US and ended up here, everything was compressed and the conditions of the fans there were worse than the usual fans I find

I can't imagine what happened to that Original to crack the cast iron housing like that! At least that happened to the newer one. Do you plan to restore these units?

Yeah, I hope you can restore them, and find a transformer to convert to 120V.

Oh no, you will see that port on every Hunter Original ever made. They are not oiled in the factory, they are oil bath fans. They must be filled with oil upon installation. Fans like Casablancas just have typical ball bearings, which are greased in the factory and left alone. |
