Coming soon to my bedroom ceiling is a new vintage ceiling fan to replace the now retired SMC Futura. Can you guess what ceiling fan this is? I already know about the ceiling fan, I just want you to identify this ceiling fan correctly just for a fun little quiz. The answer will be posted when the ceiling fan is installed. If anybody gets the correct answer, you'll win and you'll be dedicated in my new ceiling fan running test video. Anyways, here's the picture. I hope you enjoy the new ceiling fan and good luck to get the right answer in this quiz.

Cool, it looks like a late 1980's Nadair Heritage Hugger.
What are you going to do with the SMC?

The SMC Futura will have to be thrown out. The motor is wearing out because when the ceiling fan is on, the motor keeps slowing down the fan from any speed until it makes a complete stop. I now only use it as a light until the new fan is installed. I'm going to use the SMC Futura glass fixtures for the light kit because the ceiling fan didn't come with any glass fixtures for the light kit.

Throwing it out is a stupid idea. It sounds more like the capacitor is failing.

The fan is definitely Alaska-made due to the pretzel brackets.

I know throwing the SMC out would be a dumb idea. I could put the hugger in the guest room instead and replace the capacitor for the Futura to continue running the fan.

Sorry that it's been a while, but here's the update about my hugger: My father and I attempted to finally install the hugger after being stored for so long. Unfortunately, we found out that the hugger was missing some screws and the mounting bracket. So instead of figuring out how to get the hugger installed, we got another vintage ceiling fan that I can enjoy in my bedroom. It's a 52" polished brass GE Vent with 4+1 floral lights. The fan also have 5 cane-insert blades with pretzel brackets. Pictures will be up after the fan is installed. BTW, congratulations to Jean Lemieux for winning the quiz. It was a Nadair Mini-Heritage Hugger.

I kinda rushed through when I bought the hugger. That will be the mistake I'll never make again.

The fan also have 5 cane-insert blades with pretzel brackets. Pictures will be up after the fan is installed. Usually hugger fans of that ear use fairly standard screw sizes, so finding replacements at Home Depot or Canadian Tire shouldn't be too difficult.

Alright, here's the current status of getting the new ceiling fan installed: R.I.P. SMC Futura 1995-2014 (I had this fan installed at November 2008.) Here's the ceiling fan without the light bulbs. And finally, this is the current remaining of the ceiling fan until the new vintage ceiling fan goes up. It's now a temporary light fixture which looks more creepier than that SMC hugger that I saw a while ago on Kijiji with the odd light kit. The light shades are safely stored with the Nadair hugger until both the light shades and the hugger gets re-donated. Unfortunately, the blades on the Futura has been thrown out!!
