I have a 1991 Original that I got about a month ago that needs some serious TLC inside and out. The reverse switch is in the switch housing. Is there any way to disassemble it without cutting wires? I'm still not great at taking wires out of a non-Arkless pull chain switch without damaging it, and apparently you can't take the wires out of the reverse switch at all. For those of you who have taken apart these fans, any ideas? Even though I have an endless supply of wire nuts, I'd like to leave the wires in their original condition if I can and avoid cutting them.

I've never snooped around a Hunter Original with a reverse switch in the switch housing, but if the wires go directly from motor or other components without being connected via other wires with wire nuts.. What I would do is either cut the wires or unsolder from where they are connected too.. I would also take reference photos on every little detail, and where each wire goes..
Also you can take the switch housing off where it's dangling by the wires, unhook each one, pull out of the switch housing and re hook it back where it goes one at a time, That is if you aren't removing rotor too.. If done this with regular spinners..

Thanks. I just loosened the wires and detached the switch housing to where it dangled, cleaned the bearings using WD-40, cleaned out the inside of the switch housing, ran the motor alternating with fresh oil and WD-40, and then hung the fan to shoot the video. There's still some cleanup to be done but I don't think I'll have to completely dismantle it.

Yes, I just disconnect the wire nuts, and remove the wires from the pullchain.
