well, I switched the fan with one in a different room and it still did not work. I haven't tried to diagnose it yet, cause i really don't know how.

There are a lot of things that can fail before/besides the motor.

Better quality than anything made today under $300, but parts are hard to come by.

Start with www.ceilingfanparts.com. Remember, the MOTOR is probably fine, it could be a connection, a capacitor, a switch, a control, etc.
