few days ago we got a copy of the first issue of telephone directory in dubai in 1961, when it was an independent countey, before the union), i was just randomly going through the pages until i accidently stopped in a fan advertisement page! after that, i went through all the ads searching for all fan ads.. so far i found 2 fan ads, one was orient and the other one was erres book cover Erres fans translation: If you wanted to reduce the summer's suffocating heat, you should buy the famous Erres fans specially manufactured for hot climates, energy efficient and good looking. orient fans, notice the logo and the back drawings.. also notice the p.o.box this list proves that there were marelli fans in dubai

Awesome. I have never seen an Erres ceiling fan before, only their portable fans. The design seems similar to Andolla fans that are popular in Iraq. It makes sense. Erres and Indola are from the Netherlands and Andolla copied Indola fans.
It's always very cool to discover about companies that had a distributor in our area.
I still haven't seen a Marelli ceiling fan in UAE except for the reproductions in the Franklin Marshall stores. When was the first time the UAE got electricity?

There were lots of radio ads and other types of ads, the only fan ones I found were erres and orient and marelli fans being mentioned in a list
