Two weeks ago I received this very cute Casablanca Ventura. It was on eBay, new in the box sold by Value Brothers. It's pretty much my favorite Casablanca model right after the Zephyr (in pull chain versions). It was made in December 2000 so it's an older stock that was never used. It seems like it's a transitional model between the recent Casablancas and the ones made before 1997. It's got a detailed tag like older Casablancas and a pull chain that starts with low but other than that it's made pretty much like a recent Casablanca Ventura. I have to write recent instead of current because unfortunately the Ventura was discontinued a few months ago it seems. The blades that came what it are natural ash which is basically an unfinished wood blade. Like a wood blade that was sanded to bare wood (very pale). I love matte black fans with not too dark wood blades but the contrast was a little bit too strong so I stained one side of the blades with a Varathane golden pecan wood stain. The other side of the blades are still unfinished (natural ash) so theses blades are now reversible. Notice: They have the well pointed tips that I love. The natural ash side of the blades: The golden pecan side of the blades, installed in my bedroom: For more infos be sure to check the video: Before I used to change my bedroom fan too often but lately really not. I had my brass Casablanca Zephyr for two years and a half so I don't think we can say that I've been compulsive about that lately. I decided to change a little bit now.

Nice! Do you have the fifth blade? I love Casa's Matte Black, especially on Panamas and Venturas! (:

I couldn't agree more! Even tgi Fridays that had Casablancas in matte black had oak or rosewood blades on them.

The new blade finish is much better. LOVE that is has the detailed tag, that is awesome! Also love a good matte black fan, really a great one you got there. I even like this one with four blades, normally I prefer the Ventura with all five.

I even like this one with four blades, normally I prefer the Ventura with all five. Thanks. Value Brother ships only to the 48 lower states so it's actually Kelly who bought it for me first and then he send it to me. In the Value Brothers deal it actually came with matte black blades that I did not wanted so I did of trade of blades with Kelly. He kept theses NIB black blades and replace them by a set of NIB 43 cm natural ash blades. We found out that anyway there was an error in the deal. The included black blades were supposed to be 43 cm and they were actually the long 53 cm ones so even if I had kept the black blades they would not have been what I wanted in terms of blade span. I really wanted it to have a 107 cm blade span. The proportions of this fan in this blade span are perfect and beautiful. The long 53 cm blades looks too long for it IMO. I think most of plain classic Casablanca looks better with four blades especially in the pull chains versions because the switch housing is thicker so it reminds us of the 1980s fans. I noticed that the 2002 chrome model that you have, have a tag that say only Casablanca. I guess the change was done between 2001 to 2002. This is the first video of a 3-speed Ventura with short blades on You Tube. Finally!
