The pull chain I was talking about was in a Emerson. It was 3 speed I think I was 3 or 4 at the time but I know it had rubber in the pull chain. It was a chain but the rubber held it in. You only saw it when you pulled the chain. Any one know what i'm talking bout???

Some Emersons have a levolier pullchain, like Jeremy's CC, but what you are describing sounds different.

I've seen such a device in those screw-in lamp sockets that add a pullchain and two plug outlets. Never seen it in a fan, though.

Trust me, it was not in good shape at all. I'm going to salvage the blade arms and badges and maybe keep the three unbroken blades.

I would have parted it out, not trashed it.

Well, there weren't many "parts" to save, as the mounting hardware was missing, the wall control was missing, a blade was broken, etc. Basically the only things left were the (rusty) motor, the bell canopy, and the remaining 3 1/2 blades. I could have sworn I added the pics to the post; I guess I didn't save my edit. Here they are: Craftmade: Encon Hunter Quorum Weird builder; note the vents (like a Panama, but smaller, and also three per "dash" - I think Emerson made a faceplate like this). Also note the TAT-style arch-end tips. The top of the motor also slopes up, although you can't see it. Fasco; I still haven't had the chance to clean it yet. Evergo blade; note the tip is like the "baseball bat blades" but the bottom is different; and has anyone seen this badge before? Craftmade; one of the shades was broken so I had to use these big ones that were presumably from the same donor: Glass-motor fan; isn't this a Hampton Bay? I've seen it somewhere The K63 Casa I picked up; note it has 42" blades. I didn't know they were making textured finishes in the 70s! It needs a flywheel; while not visibly torn, one of the blades droops pretty bad, even after I aligned them on another motor.

The glass fan is JCPenney.
The Casablanca looks painted.
I've not seen the arch end builder before.
I wish the Evergo was complete.
