More goodies back in Montréal. Not very close to me this time but in the Outremont and Plateau-Mont-Royal areas in the center of the island. The Mile-End and the eastern half on Outremont is filled with fans. I even had to skip a few fans. There's an explosion of Fandango Alaskas in this part of town. I will definitely go back because that's probably not even the half of it. Taken through a window of a French restaurant that was closed since it was mid afternoon, I saw a model of 4 Saisons fan that I had never seen before. A really cool one too. It's a spinner that appears to be 90 cm in diameter with four wood blades, flat canopy, lower canopy, a flat can shape motor and like if it wasn't cool enough, a light kit adaptable nut on the bottom. It's the same nut with the two screws on it that my 70 cm 4 Saisons Seville has. A light can be added from the bottom of it and it can contain the capacitor. I can tell that this one has metal canopies. They are painted in blue but at least the paint is well done. They are two of them alike in this restaurant spinning fast. It could be seen as a switch housingless version of this. www.vintageceilingfans.com/membergalleries/gallery/showimage.php?i=396&c=34At Croissanterie Figaro, a beautiful parisian style café, have four late 1980's antique brass Fandango Alaska GE vent 107 cm with five cane blades. On three of them, the blades and brackets were painted in a burgundy color. The burgundy color on the blades doesn't bother me but the fact that they painted the brackets too, ruins it. The one at the back doesn't have it's brackets painted but has a bent down bracket. It's possible that the bracket is not bent down but unscrewed. Here are the two ones at the front, the whole place is gorgeous with beautiful antique fixtures, moldings and a beautiful terrace: In a Les Thés David's Tea outlet are two brushed steel Emerson Industrial 120 cm. I was a little surprised to see this. Emerson are not common around here and this happens to be on the rare Emerson that they offer today that I like especially in this awesome size. They looks awesome in this size. I had seen them at Wilcorp in 2009 but now I see some installed somewhere. They look a lot like a Tatung. The other one at the back of the store was spinning, this one near the window was off. In a dépanneur, another early 1980's Golden Fan Industrial 90 cm. It's funny how lately I come across so many Golden Fan. In a framing store, there was this cool chrome Fandango Alaska hugger 107 cm with four cane blades. It seems this one has painted blades too. It's the kind with the very small switch housing. I guess it's from around the late 1980's to early 1990's as most of Alaska around here are. In a bookstore they are three natural iron finish Kendal Studios. In another dépanneur are two more late 1980's Fandango Alaskas. One brown 90 cm spinner and one antique brass GE vent 107 cm. Notice how the GE vent doesn't have an Alaska canopy but a regular canopy. Stay tuned for more awesomeness from this area.

Here's more from the awesome Plateau-Mont-Royal and Outremont areas in the center of the island filled with fans. (Refer the the previous post) I still have to go there again, there's more. That's a shot of the Fandango Alaska GE vent 107 cm with a loose or bent down bracket at Croissanterie Figaro that I also posted in the last post. This one is located at the back and doesn't have it's bracket painted. The pull chains are cut very short. Another general shot of the café, this time from the back looking towards the front. In another restaurant are about six Fanimation Zonix 137 cm, three wood blades in a bronze finish. This would be the wall controlled version as there is no pull chain coming from the bottom. The Emerson Universal Series of the 2010's. It's a cool installation between columns and beams. www.montrealgazette.com/life/Fine+Dining+Brasserie+Bernard/9504139/story.htmlNow back in the west part of the island in my area. This is in the lobby of a recreational place that has a billiard room and a bowling room. They are three of them. They looks like Canarm CP36 but they are atually relabled Nadair. Notice the logo on the lower canopy. In a grocery store they are two of those white four blade 107 cm huggers spinning very slowly. They are wired using yellow garden cordes. They have three pull chains so they normally would have a light. A small church next to my work location has at least two fans in it. Guess what they are? Yes, Golden Fans. Hehe! I feel like I only see theses fans lately. Almost every time I updated this thread there was at least one picture of Golden Fan since last December. The lobby have this one that seems painted over as we cannot see the gold of the line around the motor. This is what we can see through the narrow window the lobby has above the front door. Another room has this one installed at the front corner of the room. It's an odd install. It's a large room with ceilings about four meters tall and this is the only fan in there. I'm sure there's much more than those two fans. I wasn't able to see the general part of the church but I'm sure they have some in there. And finally in a house I visited in Saint-Jérôme in the Laurentides region, this mid to late 2000's Home Collection Miami 107 cm, remote controlled in the main bedroom. Correct me if this is not the right model name or brand. I remember it was sold at Canadian Tire around that time. Enjoy!

Ah Tampa! I wasn't very far. I knew it was the name of a city in Florida. Thanks.
Someone else thinks that the Fanimation Zonix looks like a 2010's retake of the Emerson Universal Series?

I haven't updated this thread in more than a month. I really didn't took pictures of fans in October but I have some from very late September and early to mid November. The two storey Home Depot in my area that was open in December 2007 has some intriguing straight bladed fans that took me long to know what they are. From far they look like straight bladed Banvil Gold Line. It turns out they are Canarm High Performance. I've been seeing theses more and more lately. They look very cool for having regular shaped straight blades. Here's one on a short pole. Most of them have the regular 45 cm or so pole. This is one of the ones that is upstairs where the ceiling is not so high. The next fans are from the same clothing store that I posted pictures before in April 2013 that can be seen at the bottom of page 28 of this thread. It has a mixture of Canarm CP56 and Banvil Gold Lines from around 2007-2008. I took pictures of two Banvil Gold Lines but the second picture is a different ones that wasn't seen last time. All the fans were off this time with the blades much dustier. This one was probably seen last time. This one wasn't seen last time. It faces the entrance so there natural light reflecting on it. Close to Université de Montréal in Côte-des-Neiges area, where I go, there's a French patisserie that has two 1982-1984 ivory 4 Saisons Galaxy 90 cm. They were spinning on some fast low speed, one faster than the other one. They have a flat metal canopy with a double claw mount, the blades seems installed on the wrong side of the brackets or the other way around, it has a polished brass switch cap, a short switch housing and a light kit. It really seems to be a 3-speed pull chain model. Both pull chains comes from the switch housing and one has a square sticker, the 4 Saisons logo, next to the one presumably for the speeds. It seems that the brass switch caps was a special offer on theses models with short switch caps to match the fitter of the light. It's not the first time I see this set up. I knew for sure 3-speed models with short switch housing existed. If you like them a lot I could try to get better pictures. This was with the flash to stop the blade motion and still it's not a very good picture. There's another fan exactly like it behind the column. Lastly, this white late 1980's Nadair Spinner 90 cm in an old vacuum repair store in my area that's been around forever. It's the first time I see this fan this close but I knew there was a small spinner in there since a long time ago. It has a chunky detachable switch housing with rounded blade tips. Enjoy!

At one point, I think I looked through the entire thread. Its one of my go-to threads when I'm bored at work lol Thanks. I find them not always so good, some are dark, blurry or from far. The conditions are not always ideal for photographing fans discretely and sometimes it's not even a matter of being discreet that ruins the quality of the pictures. The thread started in January 2009. I wished I had started this earlier, I would have had pictures of fans from various parts of the world from when I lived in Chad or traveled to France, Cameroon, USA and other parts of Canada.

I understand the frustration of taking photographs in public, not that there's a lot of fans around here to capture anyways, but the few I have done, it can be difficult to take the picture without other people noticing. All the pictures you take of your own fans are good quality, some people take blurry pictures of their own fans under ideal conditions. Unfortunately I don't get to travel much, I didn't go anywhere this summer. Sounds like you've seen quite a bit of the world! I would like to take a cross-country trip one day, but I don't have the time or money right now.

I force myself to take pictures as good as possible in public. Often the fan is too far, the place is too dark, it's spinning or there's many people in the place or all this together. The flash stops the blade motion but it also attract attention. I used to live in Chad when I was 10-11 years old and this has helped me to travel more. Now it's been a very long time since I've been on a plane. I have some new sightings coming for the end of 2014.

I suppose people may think its weird, but I stopped caring what people thought about me a long time ago. I usually only have my iPhone with me, so the picture quality is not the best because there's no zoom, or flash. I've only flown twice in my life, once to Florida and the other time to the Antique Fan Museam at Fanimation. I don't really care for flying, I'd much prefer to drive even if it takes way longer. You better get those sightings posted soon, 2014 is almost over!

Yes, it's better to not care too much for the looks people may give us, try to not look too much around and if they give you look, look at them as if they were the ones in the wrong. If you want to visit another continent you will have to take a plane. I will be out of town for two days so I will post the pictures on the 2nd or the 3rd. I don't mind if it's posted in 2015.

I was at the HomeDepot today and I tired to take some pictures of the fans, and all the employees started watching me so I stopped. I don't know if all the Home Depots are like this, but the ones in my area really don't like people taking pictures in the store. I'm the past, I've actually had employees come and ask me to put my phone away while I'm in the store, which is really ridiculous. I would fly to another continent, but probably not to another location in the US. I've always wanted to go to Austrialia one day. Sounds good about the sightings, I'll check back then!
