I have a 70's era Casablanca Zephyr ceiling fan. I need a new speed control switch. This is a switch on the side of the housing that operates much like a "volume" control the more you turn it, the faster the fan goes.......in other words it does not "click" as you turn it. Can anyone tell me where to find one?? I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Open up the bottom of the fan, where the switch is, and tell us, is there a circuit board in there, or a small cardboard box?

There is a circuit board. The switch has two leads that plug into this board.

Unfortunately you're SOL. This is the infamous Slumber Quiet speed control system that consistently fails, and has even been known to catch fire! Your best bet is to convert the fan to three speed, or leave it on high and use a wall control.

They have a tendancy to fail. As for the "zephyr" in 'Gremlins', it was actually a delta, and the flames were nothing more than special effects.

Tell me more about the wall control. Right now the way it is hooked up is the wall switch turns the light on and off and a pull chain on the fan turns the blades on and off.

You cant edit posts because you're a guest, sign up for an account and then you can.
You would have to replace ALL of the slumber electronics, not just the pot. They will likely fail again. Besides, I've been told they discontinued those parts.
