So I finally gave in and bought a mini ceiling fan. I wasn't going to because I don't need one, but I figured why not. I got the cheapest one I could find on eBay which was 220V. The 110V ones are much more. I also got a voltage converter for it. We'll see when the fan gets here, it's coming all the way from Hong Kong. lol
All the cheaper ones were five blade, which is what I like best in the mini fans, aside from the three bladed ones that look like mini industrials.

If I remember correctly, my boss ordered 2 of the larger 4-bladed ones (blue in color) 2 years ago, both 110V, and I think he paid $19 apiece. We use them in the winter to push heat down to the floor (they aren't reversible, but the air vents are mounted right at fan level, so it works out well... my office is all wood and my boss put foam insulation between the cracks, but it gets a bit cold, and I just use an electric space heater, we do have heat and A/C in the store). They do have noticeable airflow (can feel the air standing near them when they're mounted on about a 9' ceiling or so) but are a tiny bit noisy. He wired them to switched outlets so he can turn them on and off as needed, but they do regularly include an on/off inline cord switch. If you mount on an unfinished/wood ceiling like we did, they will vibrate, so my boss put a piece of cloth between the metal eye hook and wood ceiling, so it doesn't reverberate as much. I wanted to order one originally, but it's not my first priority right now. I hope you enjoy it when you get it.

Yeah, we'll see when it gets here. I know the one I bought has a slide switch on the cord and the plug is just like a North American two prong plug, so I got a two prong to two prong 220 to 110 converter.
The one I bought was $7.50 including shipping, that was the cheapest. The 110V versions were $20. There used to be more styles with green blades, fancier designs on the motor, etc, but now there were only 5 and 6 blade versions, plus some 3 bladed 12V models.
I probably won't use it much, I'm not expecting the quality to be very good at all. Too bad they aren't sold in stores here, it would be cool if we had them in those Chinese dollar stores, but I never saw any.

i have two of them, one is the 16 inch, 12 volt one with three blades, and a 24 inch 120v one with four blades, they both are mounted in the living room, the smaller one over the couch, and the larger one off center in the room, the three blader gets used more then the four blader, and I control it with a remote control outlet plug, the larger one is controlled by a switch on the cord which I mounted to the wall nearest the fan here is a video of the four blader www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVFF_Go1Ego

Nice fans, though I don't think mine is going to get here, the shipping hasn't been updated since Nov 23, I think it must have gotten lost somewhere.

Can you post a link to these? I've never heard of a fan that cheap.
