True, although weren't the 1999-2003 interiors basically the same from 1999-2006? I don't see where they changed after 2003, unless I'm missing something... And the 2007 Silverado and Sierra Classic models were still the same interior also. I like those interiors too, although the two tone versions from the Tahoe and Suburban in those years look really nice. Not sure if they did that in the trucks or not.

Nope, the 1999-2002 interiors in GM fullsize trucks/SUV's (Suburban, Avalanche, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade, and Escalade EXT) were the same dash as the 1995-1998 models (Silverado C/K, Yukon, Escalade, Tahoe, and Suburban), aside from the gauge cluster being different. They switched the dash in 2003, and kept it until 2007. Our '97 K1500 Silverado is two-tone dark green and light beige on the bottom ("Conventional Two Tone", as they call it in the catalog). In our old neighborhood we lived in until 2001, a neighbor had a dark green and light beige GMC K1500, but the light beige was at the top and on the bottom, with the dark green sandwiched in between. Forget what they call that scheme. The two-tone interiors were only done on the Avalanche North Face (green/red/gray) and Escalade and Yukon Denali and Yukon XL Denali (gray/black and tan/brown). My uncle had an '02 Tahoe Z/71 and it had a single tone tan interior from what I remember.

My uncle just traded in his 2007 GMC Sierra SLE crewcab with diesel on a Ford F150 Crewcab 4x4 V8. He said he was having trouble with the truck to where it wouldn't start and didn't feel safe taking it out of state. Personally I would have tried to find whatever the problem was as it was still a really nice truck and had only about 90k miles on it which is practically noting. Also it was an 07 but it was the newer body style, so I think it was an 07.5? Not sure. The old one had leather seats, but the new one has cloth seats.

I agree I would have looked into that I love that generation Sierra, always wanted one. At least if he went with a new half ton he went with the F-150. I love GM Fullsizers but wouldn't touch the new ones with that dynamic fuel management crap on them.
I know with Silverado's the 2007 model year the new body style was the Silverado and the old style went to be the Silverado Classics. I don't know if that was the same with the Sierra's. I remember the deals back then were insane you could get a regular cab 2wd for like $15k some places now that same truck would cost you $32-33k.

Me, too my favorite Chevy/GMC full size trucks were the generation his is, especially with the Silverado LTZ/Sierra SLT interior style, which has the same interior as the Suburban/Tahoe. I don't care for the current GM truck interiors much compared to those, they all look the same to me and are too boxy. The body styling isn't bad though. To me the best looking new trucks are the Rams, but I don't trust them as much as Ford or GMC. I wouldn't mind getting an older Suburban or Tahoe, like a 2008-2012 era. But good luck finding one that hasn't had like three owners and trashed. I actually saw an 08 Suburban LTZ on Craigslist. It had 222k miles on it and they wanted $12k! The interior to me looked like crap, the caps on all the 12V plugs were missing and the whole thing looked like they smeared Armor All all over the leather and the door panels/dash. Yuck! You're right too on the pricing. In 2005 my dad bought a brand new Silverado regular cab 2WD base model for $12k. Now you couldn't buy any for probably less than $28k. I guess that's why I stick to sedans, I got my Taurus Limited for less than what a base model truck would cost. For a truck I'd be looking about $60k. No freaking way am I spending that on something that depreciates to nothing! Of course trucks are heavier built than cars though.

I agree they were the best looking ones. The 4.3 and the 5.3 are great engines, the 4.8 good motors but sluggish IMO. The current ones everyone complains about that they aren't as nice as the competition but my thing is in a truck I don't want leather and a bunch fancy stuff that scratches easily and that should reflect in the price of that unless you're going for the LTZ or High Country and thats specifically what you're going for. The new Ram's when configured right are lookers but I'd never own one I don't trust anything made by Chrysler. On the midsize end I love the look of the new Ranger's, I keep trying to talk my wife into one but she doesn't want one (or a car payment ) Ain't that the truth. Friends of ours bought a 08 Suburban probably 3 years ago with 150k on it for $15k and then it was burning a quart of oil every 30 miles so they traded it on an 09 Suburban with 75k for $26k and thats been a good car then they bought an 08 Tahoe too but I don't know the specifics on that. I remember debating with my friend and his wife debating about the price of them and she felt for $25k it should be in perfect shape and he made the argument that its a $60k car new where you can buy a brand new say Camry for that price everything will be factory fresh however the capability is different. She was always arguing they could get a lightly used mini van for that price but he would not be caught dead in a van and claimed he needed every vehicle in his fleet to be able to tow lol. I HATE when the 12V caps are missing and I know the look of the armor all all over its disgusting. I remember when my wife and I were shopping for her Elantra we saw a Camry with that you could slide off the seats.

On minivans, I know there's that stigma attached to them, but honestly I like them and might end up getting one someday just as a weekend vehicle. The depreciation on them is high because they aren't an SUV or truck, but really if you aren't going to be towing much they are perfectly comfortable, lots of room and you can move 4X8 sheets of plywood.
Yeah, I mean obviously a cap isn't expensive to replace but when things around the car just look like they weren't kept up with it sometimes makes you wonder about what you can't see. Of course someone could get their car detailed every week and never get the oil changed too, so who knows.
In my area it's like everyone wants a loaded out crewcab or full size SUV, I think they're like the modern day Cadillac or Lincoln, at least here in my part of Florida. LOL Most of the minivans are from older people or snowbirds from up north so it's easier to find one in perfect shape and low miles. Full size SUVs and trucks are harder to find used and if they do come in people are already on a list waiting for a deal. LOL

My cousin had a Honda Odyssey and literally cried like a baby when someone hit and totaled it. I have a friend with a GMC Sierra who would love a buy a minivan if he didn't have a masonry business he thinks its the coolest vehicle ever.
Thats the truth!
My wife and I went on vacation to Pennsylvania a few weeks ago and were amazed everythings a crossover. It makes you almost take pride in having a sedan to be in the minority.. even though I'm now pushing to trade in her car cause it kills my back and it looks like I'm going to the dealer because the car makes a clunking noise whenever you make a right hand turn so gonna have to go there anyway lol, I just hate spending money but I've put up with the car for three years now and I can hardly walk not looking like the tinman for days after I ride in it.
Its hard to picture the stereotypical old men who would have a big butt Caddy or Lincoln in a truck but its the truth, I have a relative who had Buick LeSabre and Park Ave one after another.. finally made it to his Cadillac kept that one for about 10 yrs and got a F-150 King Ranch and never looked back.

Crossovers are really common in my area from the small hatchback-style ones that are more like an economy car, to the larger SUV like ones. I've noticed people like them because they sit higher than sedans, so easier to get in and out. They also have a lot of vertical room without the trunk. My Taurus isn't bad for cargo room though with the fold down rear seats, which my Malibu didn't have that option.
Yeah I think eventually when I get my own place once I can afford one I want to get an older SUV or a minivan for moving stuff or doing a little towing. I personally love the 07-14 Tahoes and Suburbans, I think they were the best looking and I love the Suburban/Tahoe interiors from that era which were also in some Silverados and Sierras. The newer ones are nice too but just too nice for me if you know what I mean.
I'm thinking as long as they were maintained they should last a long time. So if I got a good deal, I'd be comfortable with buying one with maybe 150k on it, since I see them last to high 200s. All how it's been driven and maintained though. My friend's dad got a 2008 Silverado LTZ V8 new and he's still driving it. I'd bet it must have close to 200k on it by now. Even about 8 years ago it was closing in on 140k. He drives it A LOT for his business. He takes really good care of it though so it still looks like new. My dad's 2005 Silverado V6 I think has close to 170k and still runs and drives great.

So my friend's dad still has that 2008 Silverado LTZ. He's replaced the transmission on it, I don't know how many miles it has now, I'd guess about 200,000 or more by now.
He's holding out until the electric Silverado comes out to get a new one. I told him I might be interested in the old one, I loved that gen of the full size trucks.

Get it. I’ll always push someone to buy a good old truck unless it’s a Dodge/Ram Lol.

That’s how it usually works. Random story I still kick myself in the butt in 2014 when I was in college the exact same S10 came up on eBay in Ohio part of an estate sale one owner identical to mine in every way V6 regular cab 2wd, every single detail the same minus it was green where mine is burgandy. 29,000 miles original engine/trans. Sold for $7000 and they had a million pictures this thing was clean and I’m still mad I didn’t buy it. I would’ve kept it along with my current S10 but I couldn’t pull the trigger to bid fast forward a year and a half I bought my Tacoma and still have my S10 but there’s something about those trucks that I love and you cannot get out of any other vehicle.
